Exonaut to support US Marine Corps

4C Strategies North America is proud to announce it has been awarded a contract for Exonaut to support the development of a Wargaming Capability to the US Marine Corps

Washington DC – 4C Strategies (4C), a global provider of mission-critical military training, exercise management and data exploitation solutions, has been awarded a contract for its Exonaut® military training management software to support the US Marine Corps. The solution will form part of a larger end-to-end prototype Wargaming Management Platform for the US Marine Corps, which will be supplied by BAE Systems.

4C Strategies North America is proud to announce it has been awarded a contract for the Exonaut software platform by the BAE Systems led team to support the development of a Wargaming Capability to the US Marine Corps. The US Marine Corps Wargaming (USMC WG) program is currently at phase two, which will see a prototype built by September 2022. The final delivery for a secure planning, preparation, execution and assessment exercise and training tool will be delivered in phase three.

“We have been working with the US Marine Corps Wargaming Prototype for some time now with Cole Engineering Services Inc. (CESI), says Mikael Edqvist, Senior Vice President of 4C North America. “It’s an honor to be selected again for phase two by the Marines and our partners BAE Systems  and CESI. This is yet further confirmation that the Exonaut platform is market leading technology for military training and wargaming management software.”

Exonaut is used globally by US and other allied military forces including NATO, across the live, constructive and virtual spectrum. It will provide the following key functions for the USMC Wargaming effort:

  • An integrated platform combining other systems into one common user interface (UI) for Wargaming, including handling single sign-on functionality for all applications
  • Managing the scope and design of wargaming activities
  • Providing a common UI for planners and players across the Wargaming lifecycle

“Many of the features and capabilities required by the Marines already exist in Exonaut,” continues Edqvist. “Much of our time will now be focused on tailoring the software to support the USMC WG process. One of the BAE team’s goals is to ensure that planners/players do not have to do additional training – the software should support their current processes.”

The prototype is designed and developed in the United States. A dedicated team of 4C software engineers at 4C’s Orlando office is working closely with the BAE Systems team to design and build the software for the US Marines Wargaming Center.

4C Strategies CEO Magnus Bergqvist says, “We have been actively targeting the US market since 2016 when we opened our office in Washington DC and more recently, our Development centre in Orlando. This is the fourth military contract we have won in the US since then; our growth has been exponential, and I expect this to continue as we move forward. It’s not just in the US where we’re seeing growth either. In the past year, the British and Swedish Armies have both signed three+ year contract extensions for the Exonaut software and 4C exercise and training consultancy services. This success can be put down to having a great team of people and, of course, our world-leading software.”
