[Video:] REPMUS 23 – The future of NATO technology

Watch our video case study to see Exonaut played a key role in NATO's cutting edge robotics exercise, powering the future of warfighting and maritime operations.

Enabling NATO allies to act on the cutting edge of robotics

The challenge: Deliver a platform that can record and track the lessons learned from a distributed and highly complex exercise for future naval technology. Bring together 14 NATO allies and countless systems into a single source of truth solution, collecting various data sources into one to enable participating navies to evaluate the current state of unmanned systems and robotics, and their viability in supporting operations across multiple domains.

The solution: Support data capture via connected and integrated systems, providing a real-time solution for recording observations and feeding this through in real-time to evaluators. Improve interoperability and ensure a smooth transition into the following Dynamic Messenger 23 exercise, with Exonaut’s lessons management and experimentation solutions.

The result: A distributed exercise that offered objective evaluation of the next generation of warfighting technology. Daily dashboards aggregated data from all connected systems to offer evaluators a broad but granular view of performance and results. The results of the REPMUS 23 exercise then fed seamlessly into the subsequent NATO-led Dynamic Messenger exercise, working to further integrate autonomous vehicles into operations and the development of NATO doctrine, tactics and procedures.

Unmanned systems and robotics represent the future of defence. Dynamic exercises that allow NATO allies to evaluate the potential of cutting-edge technology offer an invaluable opportunity to determine the current and future viability of autonomous tech.
