As part of our ongoing effort to provide a secure and stable software solution we would like to provide information about compatibility changes in coming version releases of Exonaut®.
As of April 2015, Oracle no longer posts updates of Java SE 7 to its public download sites. Developers and end-users are encouraged to update to more recent Java SE versions that remain available for public download.

As of January 12th, 2016, Microsoft announced that only the most current version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical support and security updates. Since Internet Explorer 11 is the last version of Internet Explorer, it is the only version that will continue to receive security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

As of Exonaut® 15, planned to go into Ramp-up in May 2017 and be made Generally Available in the summer 2017, Java version 8 and Internet Explorer 11, or later, will be be the only supported Java and Internet Explorer version client side. This decision is based on the above information from Oracle and Microsoft and the fact that there are known security issues with older versions of Java and Internet Explorer.
All customers, planning to upgrade to Exonaut® 15 once it has been released, should plan for compliance internally as early as possible and notify 4C Strategies if compliance can’t be fulfilled by the time of a planned upgrade, as we may be able to offer extended support for earlier versions of Java and Internet Explorer on a case by case basis.
