People lie at the heart of an organisation’s ability to deliver an effective response to a major incident or crisis.
The delivery of training and exercises is one of the key ways to build and verify Readiness capability. Whilst desktop exercises are designed to build familiarity and confidence in roles, responsibilities, plans and procedures, simulations enable teams to rehearse their organisational response in a high-pressure environment.
With fifteen years of experience, 4C Strategies is a world leader in delivering training and exercise programmes. We work with clients to design, develop, deliver and evaluate bespoke packages that meet specific training objectives and provide auditable results. We focus on developing the people and processes that lay at the heart of the organisational response.
Examples of our work in this area include:
Airport: We have worked with a major UK airport to develop its contingency plans and communications strategy in the event of a severe weather incident. Our training and exercise package prepared the airport to deliver an effective response to a major snow event in the same year. The airport remained operational whilst its competitors were forced to close. The executive team recognised that its investment in training and exercising played a significant part in the airport’s ability to maintain operations and exceed passenger expectations.

EU Agency: We have worked with this intergovernmental agency to coordinate the delivery of table-top exercises to officials and representatives from 27 member states. We subsequently developed a bespoke training and exercise platform integrated with our Exonaut™ module Training and Exercise Manager (TEM). This platform supports the agency’s in-house capability to deliver ongoing training and exercise activities related to cyber security.
All of these areas are supported by the Exonaut™ Suite of tools.
